The Rhêmes-Notre-Dame Visitors Centre offers its guests a fascinating story: the Bearded Vulture, the largest European bird, is flying back into the skies of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
The visit shows throughout the years, all the stages of this story: its dramatic extinction, the small steps towards a thrilling come back and maybe, finally, the happy ending that we all want, with the stable presence of this particular bird in our skies.
The story told by the exhibition is enriched with many texts, images and sounds, besides some multimedia games; of particular interest for the visitor is the reconstruction of a Bearded Vulture nest on a rocky wall. The Rhêmes-Notre-Dame centre also offers the opportunity to examine an "ossuary", a detailed model of gliding and other useful elements to get to know all the birds present in the Park area.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, the Visitors Centre also features an information office, a projection room and a room for temporary exhibitions.
