Departing from the Village Lillaz you enter, first with a dirt road then with the mule-track, in the great Valley of Valeille; up to the homonym mountain pastures in the heart of the Valley, the scenery is spectacular on the glacial head of the Valley although wounds to the environment, resulting from the great floods of the 90s, are still visible. The initial forest of larch and fir trees, and deciduous trees along the creek, are perfect prelude to the final climb that will take us in front of the hut in the Arolla valley. Running into chamois, ibexes, golden eagle and bearded vulture is frequent, always in the evocative setting of a magnificent high altitude mountain panorama.
